CLOUD 9 BOUTIQUE HOTEL & SPA: GREAT LOCATION AND STUNNING VIEW OF TABLE MOUNTAIN

CLOUD 9 BOUTIQUE HOTEL & SPA: GREAT LOCATION AND STUNNING VIEW OF TABLE MOUNTAIN   When I was searching for a place to stay in Cape Town and bumped into a photo of this pool with an amazing view of Table Mountain, I instantly knew I would love to stay at this hotel. Now, let me share my experience after spending three nights there.   ROOMS They have 3 types of rooms: Classic, Heritage Classic (the one I stayed in) and Heritage Deluxe. All of them include free Wi-fi, Nespresso Machine, TV, Air Conditioning, Safe and Mini-Bar. The bed and the quilt were so wonderful that in my first night when I woke up, for a moment I thought that I was at home because…

Scuba diving at Laje de Santos

Scuba diving at Laje de Santos   Have you thought of scuba diving in São Paulo? Scuba diving at Laje de Santos may be the right option for you! When you live in SP you need to escapes from this busy and crazy city and connect with nature at times.   To get to Laje from the city you need to drive 1 hour (not too far for a dive lover), and then take an 1 and a half hour boat trip. It is good to remind you that the boat trip may not be too nice with those who get seasick easily. If you are used to take some seasick pills prior to a dive I would definitely recommend you take it prior to this one.   …

There is no place like HOME!

A place where you can call it HOME. Usually travellers talk about being somewhere new, but today let’s talk about our home sweet home.   After a crazy 1 and a half year which I had to pack everything I have and move for 3 times, I finally have a feeling that I haven’t had for a while. I feel like “I’m HOME!”.   WHAT IS HOME FOR YOU?   5 years ago, while I was living in San Jose (California) a guy told me: “There is no place like HOME”. Today I fully agree with him, although when he said that he was referring to his family’s house. In my understanding, HOME may have different definitions, a place where: you feel comfortable; you feel like…

Great Barrier Reef Liveaboard

The Great Barrier Reef already seemed to be fantastic when I studied about it at school, but after I got my diver certification (Oct/14), visiting it became a dream. When my boss told me early this year that I would work for 9 months in Australia I instantly thought: “Great Barrier Reef, you are now on the top of my list!”. While searching how I would do my trip I found out that the best dive spots are too far from land to do a day trip, so I started to consider doing my first liveaboard.   Cod Hole and Osprey Reef are the dive spots that attracted me the most. Cod Hole because I would be able to see the giant Potato Cod, and…

Halong Bay and Castaways Island with Hanoi Backpackers Hostel

While in Hanoi (Vietnam) I stayed at Hanoi Backpackers Hostel in Downtown, they organize 2 and 3 days tours to Halong Bay. I booked it directly with the hostel, which I think it is a great idea especially because you can already start making friends at the hostel. On the day of the tour we left around 7:30am and it took FOREVER to get there. We took a bus, a ferry, another bus and then a boat. When we got to the private beach at Castaways Island the guides explained to us some games they play there, and if we don’t follow the rules of the games we may pay by drinking or doing push-ups. Only participate those who want to, but they are pretty…

Touching people’s lives

People told me many times I should have a travel blog because I am always travelling, and in the end of last year, since I was about to go to Asia and I was sure it would be nice to share my experience with everyone, I decided to go for it. Well, I had to learn how to build a website by myself, I had to write my first post having no clue on how to do it…But I didn’t do everything by myself, my friends helped me to decide the blog’s name, a friend helped me by doing my logo, another one helped me to write my first post in English…FRIENDS, what a great word?! How to live without them?! Later, when I came…

Balloon ride in Chapada dos Veadeiros

Chapada dos Veadeiros is a national park with many hiking trails and waterfalls, it is absolutely beautiful! I got super excited when I found out on the internet that there are balloon rides there, I’m also glad I have “down to Earth” friends who join me in any adventure activity I suggest hahaha. The ride was incredible, we were amazed with the scenic views and I didn’t feel scared at any time even though I’m a little scared of highs…At the end I could not express my happiness in words, I could just smile and thank for one more great moment to live and one more great story to share with you =). Filipe Tostes (the balloonist) was also celebrating, this was his flight number…

32 days living the DREAM

28 days in Asia, 4 days is North America, 6 countries, 17 flights and uncountable great memories for life. It could be just a regular vacation around Brazil’s coast, which would also be good, but I wanted more, I wanted to see different realities, meet different people, listen to a different music, try a different food, explore other religions, learn more about history, be able to say “Cheers” in other languages…So I went to the other side of Earth for my Asia trip. I planned it for a whole year, searching online for all the places I could not miss, I had to take many awesome things out of my itinerary because I would not have enough time to do everything I wanted, and at…

The Magic of Iguazu Falls

If you plan to go to Brazil or Argentina, the Iguazu Falls should definitely be in your list. If you live in Brazil please, tell me you’ve been there or that you have a trip booked already =) Pictures are not going to give you the sensation of water splashing on your face, neither give you the sound of the rushing water or the opportunity to see a toucan flying above you. Not convinced yet? What if I tell you that you can even go on a boat tour in the middle of the waterfalls? Make all of it your own experience! I went there in November of 2013, there was a holiday in Brazil on a Friday so I took a bus from São…
