When I was looking for a place to stay in Cape Town (South Africa) and bumped into a photo of the Cloud 9 Boutique Hotel & Spa‘s pool with this amazing view of Table Mountain, I instantly knew I would love to stay at this hotel.

Now, let me share my experience after spending three nights there.

They have 3 types of rooms: Classic, Heritage Classic (the one I stayed in) and Heritage Deluxe. All of them include free Wi-fi, Nespresso Machine, TV, Air Conditioning, Safe and Mini-Bar.

The bed and the quilt were so wonderful that in my first night when I woke up, for a moment I thought that I was at home because I felt very comfy.

The shower was huge, I was always looking forward to it after spending a whole day hiking the mountains. Ah, they also have the best soap ever and everything was super clean.

IMPORTANT: No matter where you are staying in South Africa you should avoid walking by yourself at night. Unfortunately, safety is a concern there so precautions are recommended.

In the case of Cloud 9, as they are well located I mostly took Uber to get to places because it was quite cheap.

You don’t need the weather forecast to know if it is a good day to hike up Table Mountain or not, just go to the pool and find it out. If it isn’t raining and the clouds are away,  then it is the perfect day =)Cloud 9 Boutique Hotel & Spa: Pool View of Table Mountain

Every morning and night I would at least pass by the pool to admire the view, as you can see it is absolutely beautiful.

At the end of the day this is also a great spot to have a nice cocktail and talk to some friends.

If you are the kind of person who prefers to stay in, don’t worry, you won’t run out of things to do in the hotel.

At the spa you can get:

  • Several types of massage
  • Facial treatments
  • Manicure and pedicure
  • Sun tanning
  • Waxing

You can also relax at the sauna or exercise for a bit at the fitness centre.

All the employees were extremely nice, since the booking until I checked out.

I was actually very impressed with the service in South Africa, they really want to make a difference there!

The breakfast was quite simple but good, they had croissants, cheese, jelly, cereal, fruits…

The coffee was prepared by a barista, it was great!

You may also get room service and laundry if needed.

I had some laundry to be done which is a one day service, but as they knew I was in a hurry they did it in half a day. This sense of urgency is not something you get everywhere!
